Call for Papers

 

The conference will highlight 21st-century developments, applications, and discussions

of Irmgard Bartenieff & LIMS’ impact on the field of movement studies and beyond. 

 

The official language of the conference will be ENGLISH.

 

All Submissions must contain a Cover Page with the following information:

  1. Name and Affiliation
  2. Physical Address, Email, Telephone Number (with Country & Area Code)
  3. Country of Origin
  4. Title of your paper, research, panel discussion or workshop
  5. One paragraph bio. Please highlight your Laban background. No more than 5 lines
  6. One paragraph about your presentation. No more than 7 lines. 

All information about your proposal must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word Format: Arial, 12, 1.5 Spacing, and submitted to LIMS CEO, Regina Miranda, reginamiranda@labaninstitute.org

Submission Deadline for all Papers, Panel Discussions, and Workshop Proposals is September 7, 2017


RESEARCH/THEORETICAL PAPERS/PANEL DISCUSSIONS:

Presentations should demonstrate an understanding – and engagement with – the principles of Irmgard’s and Laban’s theories. Interested parties are invited to submit papers of not less than 2000 words and not exceeding 3000 words. Panel Discussions’ total duration should not exceed 30 Minutes. 

In addition to the Cover Page, please add an additional page including: 

  1. One paragraph about your application of Bartenieff or Laban’s Movement Theories/Practices
  2. Other information you may find important (e.g. how the learning and/or work at LIMS impacted your work and life.
    • Panel Discussions: Please include the names and affiliations of the speakers at the panel. No more than two paragraphs.
  3. Technical Needs (i.e. projector, audio, etc.)
  4. A 170-word summary/description of your Paper or Panel Topic.

 

WORKSHOP:

Workshops should demonstrate an understanding – and engagement with – the principles of Irmgard’s and Laban’s theories.

In addition to the Cover Page, please add an additional page including: 

  1. One paragraph about your workshop, including how Laban and Bartenieff’s Movement Theories influenced your creativity, teaching, healing, etc.
  2. Minimum & Maximum Participants
  3. Level of Difficulty
  4. Other information you may find important (e.g. how the learning and/or work at LIMS impacted your work and life, any special needs for space, etc.)
